  1. About the general usefulness of the model:
In the case of IKON, programme manager dr. Toure and project manager Mohamed Sangare have already acquired a large skill-set on preparing and running ICT-related projects through the experience with IICD over the past 4-5 years. In that perspective, one can say that they apply and/or incorporate many of the points supplied on the model´s checklists.
However, they consider that especially for less experienced managers the model can be a very helpful and handy tool to consult before, during and after project implementation. And even for more experienced users, it does gives complete checklists on how to well prepare and manage a project. They consider that most guidelines provided by the model are part of good project management, and are proposed in a comprehensive way. Some guidelines go a bit deeper than general project management that they are used to and have attracted their specific attention. These can be found on comments on the corresponding slides.

  2. IKON/IICD project Mgr and programme mgr:
It would be interesting to add information specifically related to the use of VSAT.
What does one have to be aware of when one envisages starting to use VSAT for connectivity?
Where can one find reliable information on technical questions?
What is the difference between a service provider and a bandwidth provider?
What is the difference between shared and dedicated?
What common pitfalls in negotiations with resellers/service providers does one need to beware of? Etc.
And although some of this kind of information may be contextual or prone to changes over time, it could be interesting to look into ways of providing or pointing to some general guidelines.
